Architects & Engineers
Increasingly more project planners are wisely choosing to protect their projects from lightning.
Buildings are more vulnerable to lightning damage today than ever before. Technological advancements
in utility delivery systems (underground electrical, utility, etc.) continues to grow and remains an
ever-present need in our society for lightning protection. Lightning’s devastating force accounts for
more than $4-5 billion annually in structural damage in the United States alone.
A professionally installed lightning protection system is the ONLY recognized method of protecting valuable property
from potential damage caused by lightning. Investing in effective, UL and NFPA compliant lightning protection makes
good sense for both project planners and clients.
We recommend offering lightning protection to all clients. Giving clients the choice of lightning protection reduces
project planner’s liability, should the client experience loss due to lightning. The client will not question or seek
damages if the choice is given during the design phase.
Our in-house Design and Sales teams work closely
together to provide designs, specifications
and consultation services.
Risk Assessment
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 780 Standards have a risk assessment to assist in determining the lightning risk
of a specific structure. The risk assessment is a “formula” consisting of different variables to help determine the risk.
This is just one of the tools offered to provide good information to your clients. There is no exact method of knowing when
and where lightning will strike; thus a lightning protection system will put you one step ahead of Mother Nature.
